he requested me to pay the carriage, including Insurance

on the three cases from Aberdeen to Hong Kong, and to

forward a note of my expenses to my brother in law in

Hong Kong, and that he would pay him on his return to

Hong Kong, and my brother-in-law would pay me. I paid

the carriage on the 3 cases from Aberdeen to London

account from Messrs. Pickfords Limited, for carriage &

Insurance on them from London to Hong Kong amounting to

(I think) £2. 10/-. I then wrote my brother-in-law

and informed him about the three cases and requesting

him to send me £7. 10/- which was the amount of my

expenses including carriage and insurance and enclosing

the receipt I received from Messrs. Pickfords Limited,

London for the amount which I had remitted to them.

I have received no reply so far from my brother-in-law

neither have I received these expenses. About the

middle of July last I again received a letter from

Vollbrecht, at Hamburg to the effect that he was sending

on other three cases from London and requesting me to

have them put into stronger cases as I had done with the

three former onos. He also enclosed addresses, and
